Role Overview
As an Application Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in applying your deep scientific expertise to enable successful adoption and integration of Simreka’s platform with global customers. You will work across domains bringing together your technical insights and communication skills to support clients, drive technical success, and shape product development.
Key Responsibilities
Material Application Development: Utilize Simreka’s AI platform to design and validate material applications for industries like packaging, electronics, and textiles, ensuring performance and sustainability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, data scientists, and compliance teams to integrate AI-driven insights from Mat IQ and Databak into application workflows.
Problem Solving: Analyze complex datasets to optimize material properties, predict performance, and resolve application-specific challenges, such as replacing hazardous compounds like methyloxoarsine.
Innovation Leadership: Take ownership of application-focused projects, from ideation to implementation, driving the adoption of novel materials.
Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure material applications align with regulatory standards (e.g., REACH, EPA) and sustainability goals, leveraging Databak’s compliance data.
Client Engagement: Work with clients to translate their needs into material solutions, providing technical expertise and demonstrating Simreka’s platform capabilities.
Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance material applications, reduce environmental impact, and improve performance using AI simulations.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. PhD is a plus.
Experience: 3+ years in materials science or application development, preferably in chemicals, materials, or related industries. Experience with AI-driven tools or simulations is a plus.
Skills:
Strong analytical foundation with expertise in material characterization and application testing.
Problem-solving mindset with a track record of tackling interdisciplinary challenges.
High initiative, independence, and self-motivation to thrive in a fast-paced startup.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R) and simulation software (e.g., COMSOL, Materials Studio).
Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., REACH, EPA) and sustainable material design principles.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and client-facing skills to work cross-functionally and translate technical solutions to diverse stakeholders.
